Tiffany Evans, 2003 - Track and Field
Tiffany was a dominant force and state champion in both the shot put and the discus throw in indoor and outdoor track. During her time at Gar-Field, she was a member of six district and four regional team championships. From 2000 to 2003, Tiffany earned All-District, All-Region and All-State honors eight times each. Tiffany won 3 individual state championships, two in the shot put and one in the discus throw. She also earned All-American honors in 2002. Tiffany won Washington Post All-Met honors twice and still holds the Gar-Field school record for girls’ indoor/outdoor shot put and discus throw. Tiffany went on to have a hall of fame career at Radford University as well. She was one of the top throwers in the country. She is the current indoor/outdoor record holder in the shot put and the discuss and weight throws. In 2006 she was named and All-American and the Big South Conference female track and field athlete of the year as well as the female athlete of the year. In 2017, she was inducted into the Radford University Athletic Hall of Fame. Tiffany is still active in the sport. She is a volunteer throws coach at Marian University in Indianapolis, Indiana. |
