Missy Wycinsky, '95 - Basketball, Soccer, Tennis
Missy was a multiple sport athlete for tennis, basketball and soccer for Gar-Field High school from 1992 thru 1995. In Tennis, she was selected Second Team All-District as a freshman, then selected First team All-District the next 3 years, earning top seed in the tournaments. She was selected the team MVP for 3 consecutive years and she was selected First team All-Area for the last three years. In Basketball, all of the teams that Missy played on at Gar-Field won the District Championships. She was selected second Team All-District as a junior and first Team All-District as a senior. As a senior point guard she was also selected First Team All-Region. During her senior year, the team won the District and the Regional Championship. In Soccer, Missy was selected First Team All-District for four consecutive years. She was selected to the second Team All-Region as a freshman, then First Team All- Region for the next 3 years. She was first team All-State her sophomore, junior and senior years. She received All-Met Honorable Mention as a sophomore and junior and then selected First Team All-Met as a senior. Missy was also Senior Class Salutatorian, Principal’s Award for Excellence three consecutive years, held office of Class Vice President for her Junior and Senior Year. Missy received a soccer scholarship to William & Mary where she earned state and national honors. She was drafted by and played for the San Diego Spirit of the Women’s United Soccer Association (WUSA) and was inducted into the W&M Athletic Hall of Fame in 2011. |
