Lester Tucker, '65 - Baseball, Basketball, Football, Track & Field
Considered one of the most outstanding athletes of his time, Lester Wayne Tucker brought honor to himself and his school during the early years of 1962 to 1965. He played varsity football, basketball, baseball and track. In football, he held the Battlefield District record for the most points scored in a season and for the most touchdown passes received in a single season. In Basketball, he broke the school single game scoring record with 38 points. He held school records in track for long jump, broad jump, 220 yard dash and most points scored in a single meet. In 1965, he was named to the All-District team, Honorable Mention All-State team and the Journal Messenger’s Sportsman of the Year. Lester’s classmates senior superlative recognition expressed the positive impact he had on classmates, family and teachers . Lester was voted Outstanding Senior in the Class of 1965. Lester also represents the special class of athletes that started with the schools inception and many stellar athletes from the 1950’s and 1960’s. |
