John Asbell, '80 - Baseball, Football
John was a stellar baseball player from 1977 to 1980. As a dominating pitcher, his win-loss record was 10-0 his sophomore year, 13-0 his junior year (with three consecutive no-hitters) and 14-1 his senior year. John was named All-Met and All-State his junior and senior years and was a member of the Pan American games his senior year. He also played football from 1978 to 1980 and was named All-District punter both his junior and senior year. John went on to play baseball for Tennessee Wesleyan College and led the nation with a 0.99 ERA his junior year. In 1985 John signed with the Seattle Mariners. John is a retired Law Enforcement Officer and currently lives with his wife and three kids in Warwick, Maryland. |
